Splash du Jour: Thursday

Then Almitra spoke again and said, And what of marriage, master?
And he answered, saying:
You were born together, and together you shall be for evermore.
You shall be together when the white wings of death scatter your days.
Aye, you shall be together even in the silent memory of God.
But let there be spaces in your togetherness.
And let the winds of the heavens dance between you.

Love one another, but make not a bond of love:
Let it rather be a moving sea between the shores of your souls.
Fill each other’s cup but drink not from one cup.
Give one another of your bread but eat not from the same loaf.
Sing and dance together and be joyous, but let each one of you be alone,
Even as the strings of a lute are alone though they quiver with the same music.

Give your hearts, but not into each other’s keeping.
For only the hand of Life can contain your hearts.
And stand together, yet not too near together:
For the pillars of the temple stand apart,
And the oak and the cypress grow not in each other’s shadow.
-- From The Prophet / Kahlil Gibran --

Have a great Thursday!

Good evening,

As I was enjoying my book silently with my bf at Casey's, a man came up to us and handed me a card. "You like books," he said, "Well check out my site." And walked away....

Now, being the book worm that I am, this man got my attention right away.

As soon as I got home I couldn't help but go on the computer to check it out....

And here I am reading your material. :) You are very good. this site is absolutaly fantastic. I will deff. keep on coming back perhaps even post my own stuff.(my biggest dream is to be a writer)

Thank you for giving your card to a random girl: you might have just sparked a change in her...

Thank you for having a look at the site, Patsy. It is just such a rare thing to see two people IN A BAR with books in front of them! I said to my friend Phil, "Oh, I just have to give them a Bookpuddle card."
So thanks for already stopping by.
Admittedly, lately I have not talked much about BOOKS per se, but stay tuned, I will speak about books.

Whether it is about books or any other subject it's always pleasant to read and learn or even have a giggle!
