This may be a stereotyping thing, but I've never known a Canadian who had difficulty judging the temperature of her/his beer.
I think it's genetic.
That and the fact that, half the year, we don't even need a fridge-- just put the case on the balcony/back porch/patio/etc. for a few minutes and winter ensures optimum coolness.
