Fireworks: A Saturday "Snapshot"

It's been a while since I have partooken… partaken? Umm… participated in [there we go] Alyce's Saturday Snapshot Event.
Last Sunday was Canada Day here in Canada [go figure!] and I took some pictures of the fireworks as viewed from my balcony.
But none of them really turned out very good.
So, instead of a snapshot of blurry colored sparks, I am posting a brief video-clip of the very last explosions of the evening, along with the ensuing hooplah and applause from spectators in the park across the street who have not nearly as good a vantage point as I have up here on the 14th floor.
That last blast, the big red one, I cannot even describe to you how large and loud it was.
It made my cat Jack throw up, the poor guy. He really did.
He puked on my floor, and then hid under the bed the whole next day.

Thank you Alyce, for hosting this terrific Saturday Snapshot meme @ At Home With Books.

Lovely - I use to love going to fireworks when I was younger, but now don't like the noise.

Oh wow you captured those really well! I missed them this year :(

Great fireworks.
Too bad for Jack. Solan isn't exactly fond of fireworks, but more to the point of looking apprehensive instead of hiding under the bed for a day. But, when I played your video he did wake up from his nap to check out if the noise was anything worth checking out. He decided that it wasn't and is fast asleep again.

I love fireworks, too. My blog where I do Saturday Snapshots is called Snow Sparks...with a sparky blog button.

Hmm, hadn't really thought about it, but I could have done a fun theme for the 4th...lol

Enjoyed yours! Here's MY SATURDAY SNAPSHOT POST

Pretty impressive to get photos of fireworks. I can barely get pictures of things that are sitting still. Here's Mine

Yes, fireworks are not kind to animals. I am glad there were none too near my house!

Your poor cat! We've been very fortunate that our animals haven't been bothered by the loud noises.

I tried to take some photos of the fireworks with the new camera my husband just bought for me, but there's a huge learning curve and the camera basically told me "you're doing it wrong" and wouldn't take a photo because I had the settings wrong for the dark. My new "for dummies" camera guidebook is on its way to me and hopefully will help me figure out more than just the automatic settings.

My husband took clips of fireworks on Canada Day. Haven't learned to upload videos of our own. Is it hard to do?

Yay for the fireworks! I didn't actually go and see any this year (too hot to leave the house)...so it's been nice seeing pictures from some of you on Saturday Snaphot.

Here's my Snapshot.

Was it always called Canada Day? Is there still a Dominion Day???
I have a small scar on my hand from lighting sparklers in my backyard in Niagara Falls (the Canadian side) back when I was about 10.
Good times!
