I keep buying. I keep reading, too, but I can't keep up, not even nearly, to what I WANT to read.
So look at this fine stack of lovelies. And there are several more that I picked up also, but I can't show them here because they are meant to be a gift for someone who will see them, if I show them.
And that will ruin the surprise factor.
Suffice it to say that this, and a few more, cost me only $38.00.
What a steal. Have any of you read any of these? If so….. help me prioritize.
Tell me which should be moved to the top of the list, [or maybe avoided altogether] in my Bookpuddle intentions.

A nice bookhaul indeed. I love getting a stack of bargains like that. 38 bucks is a good deal. I like Julian Barnes (although hated his England, England). Wolf Hall is hiding in my TBR too. And I've always meant to read Jack Maggs, but feel I need to read Great Expectations first.

The book I feel most wanting to dive into is the Sarah Waters one.

Ann Patchett and John Irving go to the top of my list. You already know Wolf Hall won some literary prize, so I suppose it's up there too. Here's Mine
What a fabulous load of books! I love book sales. I just scored a few good titles at a sale this weekend too. I see you got some Julian Barnes in there too - I'm always on the look out for him.
I have enjoyed Ann Patchett, although I haven't read that one. Something to add to my list!

Huh! Nice haul! A few of those are on my TBR list. Locally, it's the sales by the Red Cross and the Animal Shelter that have the best books.
Lots of good looking books there! It is very difficult to pass up a good deal on books. I have The Sisters Brothers and the Sarah Waters book on my shelf waiting to be read too.

That is a sweet haul! I've always wanted to make an end table out of a stack of books...you have the makings of a good one. I found Bel Canto absolutely mesmerizing so I would probably put the Ann Patchett at the tippytop and Julian Barnes. Hmmm. Wolf Hall is not only, what, a Man Booker prize winner, it's also going to be adapted for the screen so that has to be on my list too.

I've read Arthur and George, which I loved and would thoroughly recommend, and Jack Maggs (though I can't remember it very well, but don't think I hated.)

I'd say start with Du Maurier! Seasonal, of sorts.

Haven't read any of these yet, but I do the same thing, and now I have several stacks still waiting for me to read. It's so difficult to resist adding more to the pile. Especially when they call out to you... buy me, buy me!
That's a great haul! I love our local big used book sale, but it's in the spring so I have a while to wait.

I ended up buying 28 books for $74. Bel Canto is one of them in my pile too.
Go John Irving then Bel Canto then the Sisters Brothers.
I've have Fingersmith in my TBR so if you start with that one let me know and I'll read it at the same time. Otherwise I'm going with your suggestion.

I haven't seen it mentioned yet, so I'll give a shout-out for The Gathering by Enright. It's such a lovely, focused, startingly beautiful book that should be enjoyed when you have one sitting to read it in.
All the books look great though and hope you have fun reading them! Your other books may be jealous, but think how swanky your bookshelves will look!
