Splash du Jour: Wednesday
The sun sank, and they both felt its final shudder of warmth.
Turning, he looked into her eyes.
“I feel as though you are the one I have waited for, all my life. And now you are here.”
“I’m not even sure if I believe in such a thing,” she whispered.
“I’m lying? Darling…”
“No, no. It’s just that phrase ‘the one’. I’m just me. All I know is that I too, have waited. Until now. Until right now.”

Have a great Wednesday!
Experience (my own and that of people I know) has taught me that
ReplyDelete"the one" does not exist. That's not to say there aren't a number of people out there who could be just perfect for you, me, anyone...
(Off topic. I did not enjoy the game last night. Your team is too good. I'm kind of hoping for a few (minor) injuries to The Senators. A broken wrist, ankle, pulled groin - nothing too serious. Just something to make them lose at least a second game!)
I beg to differ, Beth. My own experience has taught me that "the one" was out there for me. I'm happy to say we've been married for 10 years now and he still makes my insides quiver and my heart race. We have some less than perfect moments but true love is all about those hard times. If you love him for his imperfections as well as his talents and best sides then you know you have the real thing.
ReplyDeleteC.
Ahhh, Cippy...you hopeless romantic.
ReplyDeleteIs there only 'one' for someone in this whole wide world? I don't think so. I'm inclined to agree with Beth. I am very fortunate to have found my 'one', but who knows? There could have been some other 'ones' out there that might have been quite wonderful. I'll never know, though will I? Ahhh...perhaps on some parallel world right now, I'm with some other 'one'...
Beth:
ReplyDeleteThe Sens winning streak was shattered tonight by the Washington Ovechkins..... I mean, Capitals!
But yeah, they are sizzlin'.
Anonymous "C":
I've been married to someone for not quite 10 years, [more like 7] and I would concur with you, he "still makes my insides quiver" too.... but.... in my case, he's a CAT!
Patricia:
Yeah, I am hopeless.
And a romantic.
I recall, when we met at Indigo in Toronto, so many of the things you spoke about made it so obvious that you met the right "Guy".
