"Believe me, my young friend, there is NOTHING--absolutely nothing-- half so much worth doing as simply messing about in boats." -- From The Wind in the Willows, by Kenneth Grahame –
Girls, yes. I'm sure Ratty and Moley were not thinking about broads when they were in that boat. They were thinking of much more innocent adventures. Like drinking sloeberry wine later on, around Moley's fireplace, having a few muffins. Talking about life in The Willows. Stuff like that.
An attitude worth cultivating! Enjoy your day.
ReplyDeleteSo true. Wasn't it Pierre Burton who said something about Canadians making love in canoes?
ReplyDeleteI believe it was Pierre Trudeau who commented on canoes & lovemaking. Do you think that's the kind of 'messing about' Ratty was talking about...? :)
ReplyDeleteOf course it was Trudeau. Silly me.
ReplyDeleteWell, when I see the phrase 'messing about' my ratty mind just goes in one direction...
