Sentences. I love them. I love the sound of them. I love finding the right rhythm. There's no detail that's too small for attention. Somebody told me four or five years ago, 'Why bother to write a good sentence any more? Nobody notices.'
I don't believe it. I believe that people don't know that they need good sentences but they do need good sentences.

Have a great Tuesday!
Trying to write a good sentence has been tearing at my brain lately... the right rhythm, the right poetry... and trying to make it say what you want it to say. I've been staring at a blank page all morning.
ReplyDeleteThere's something to be said for just writing, Shark. Forced writing is no fun to read or write. Just write and write, and when you find the right rythm an flow, go with it.
ReplyDeleteKeep on keeping on, Shark!
ReplyDeleteI hope you found your groove.
If not, as kingmonkey suggests, don't force the issue. Stand back. Crack open a beer or two!
They say that we all learn through imitation.
ReplyDeleteShark, you seem to be quite the reader...and I've heard that that reading is one good way to help you to write.
That writers' block can be brutal though, and the critical internal voice of writers often not too helpful.
I second cipriano's advice: Keep writing, Shark. I encourage you.
