Splash du Jour: Monday
Birds One thing about birds. Not a one of them smiles. Not ever. Yet, give me wings and I imagine my face ripping off from the smiling alone. Not to mention the wind itself hollowing out my jowls as I swoop and dive. Defying what I know about gravity in a macabre smile thinking thoughts no bird, anywhere, has ever thunk.-- © Ciprianowords, Inc. 2012 --
Have a great Monday!*****
Why do we all dream of flying – and smiling?
ReplyDeleteMaybe birds do smile – and we just don’t recognize their version of a smile… :)
I love this piece of work. Thanks Cip
ReplyDeleteBeth -- we dream of flying because walking is so..... pedestrian. I admire the gift of flight, but I do feel sorry for the pigeons all huddled on my balcony when their soaring is done, their little bird-knees knocking in the cold.
ReplyDeleteThank you, BBB.
I loved this poem Cip! But birds are probably meh! about flying, it's probably pedestrian to them... maybe they wish they could walk gracefully :)
