A Name In The Sand: A Saturday Poem
A Name In The SandYour hand once held my own, yourName, the sweetest noteIn a song unfinished --The reason for my joy. Now,Sand -- laid out in its infinityReminds me of the countless timesMy thoughts have held you, while myHeart was so lonelyThat I fell to my knees.I bend down and write,Still thinking about you -- sometimesLove is a hidden messageYou find in the first word of each line.© Ciprianowords Inc. 2008

I had read one by Hannah Flagg Gould. Great stuff! This is somewhat hidden (and not so hidden).
I find this poem amazing.
I find YOU amazing.
Thank you all for your nice comments. I wrote this poem over a decade ago, and I have shown it to many many people since. Most readers sort of nod their head at the end and say "Hmm... nice." But they do not "get" the trick to it at the end, which to me seems so obvious it is well.... TOO obvious.
Thank you for not only reading, but also "getting" it!
It's beautiful. Definitely made me smile. Thanks for sharing it.
wow Cip...that is BEAUTIFUL!!!! I'm not a big "poetry" person, but that has some soul to it. Nice work.
and thanks for stopping by my blog!!!
and how could people "not get" this poem??!! are they stupid???
And, of course, there it is.
(Watch out for the tide coming in...)
Love the poem and love what you did with the first words of each line and how you so nicely worked the hint into the poem. Well done!
Wonderful poem, and the 'hint' is pretty clear, I think... once again you succeed with another moving poem.
