The Book Haul: A Saturday Snapshot

Well, this morning I awoke early and went to a Used Book Sale at the ol' Community Hall on Springfield Road. Wow, there was no shortage of people in attendance -- we were crammed in there like mackerel in a barrel.
And no shortage of great book finds!
I nabbed these beauties here -- my total bill?
Less than $30.00, which is insane since that top book alone, the latest from Booker Prize Winner Alan Hollinghurst, is about that much in the store!
I was so thrilled I couldn't even wait to get home to take a picture.
Here they are in all their bookish beauty on the trunk of my car!
Have you read any of these?

Thank you Alyce, for hosting this terrific Saturday Snapshot meme @ At Home With Books.

Wowyouresolucky! I'm interested in a bunch of those, but I've only ever read the Eco -- I think you'll love it. I really like the green Peter Carey spine -- very striking, more spines shoud look like that.

Oh man, that is an excellent haul! You got some great titles :) But, yeah, I can imagine it was a zoo in there.

Isn't this a great addiction to have? ;)

First off, I thought Trisha said "you have some great tities"!

Secondly, you were supposed to go with me! Clearly you are a book hog!

I always love getting a good deal on a bunch of books. Lovely for you and such a good price. STILL ALICE is a wonderful book. Not cheerful, but very, very touching.

Congrats on the great haul! I didn't find out about the huge sale in our closest city until after it was over. We have sales in town but on a very small scale.

Congratulations! :)

I would have bet that you have read "In the Name of the Rose".

What a great haul! I don't think I've read any of those but I do have Room by Emma Donoghue in my TBR pile :)

Great catch.
The only one I've read is Room by Emma Donoghue, I like it a lot.

What a great haul- and I suspect your prices were better than my recent haul.... I haven't read any of these books, but have heard great things about many of them. Room in particular. I can't believe you got the new Allan Hollinghurst! I can see why you were so excited you couldn't wait to get home.

I haven't read Animal Dreams, but you can never go wrong with Kingsolver. :)

Excellent book sale shopping! So very jealous. From your stack I've read Name of the rose (excellent) and Plot Against America (very good). There are several on your pile I've got on mine too. Enjoy your finds!

I have the Eco and the Vandreheaghen. Enjoyed both quite a lot but thought that the Last Crossing was better than The Englishman's Boy.
I envy your haul. When your not looking, I think I might raid your bookshelves!

Loved Animal Dreams (and all things Kingsolver) and In the Name of the Rose, which is also a very good movie.

OMG!! I'm in love with your stack of books. I see some that I've read but many others I would love to pluck off the screen!
